In my search for optimal health, over the years, I have experimented with different ways of eating, including vegetarian and vegan (although that didn’t last too long). The problem I ran into with both of these was that I ended up replacing meat and dairy with soy. At the time I didn’t see this as a problem, but I did notice that the high levels of soy and soy based products didn’t agree with me. Now with more research on soy there is some compelling reasons to eliminate soy products from our diets. At a recent Nourishing Our Children talk, I learned that many dairy companies also produce soy milk and actually make more money on the soy milk than regular milk, which is why these companies do not make an effort to expose the soy industry or educate Americans on the the negative effects of soy.
Here is a video that summarizes and explains the great soy debate.
